June
23 - Town Fair Tire from Waterford Speedbowl
We had
a really good weekend. I really like
these races, running 150 laps is so different that the 30
or 40 I used to run at Wall. We had a really good practice
session and got the car dialed in to the track conditions.
When we went out for time trials we were hoping for a top
15 start, we only missed by 2 spots! So we lined up 17th
and took the green flag. What an exciting race and the competitors
respect each other so there were not too many cautions.
During a long green run we went a lap down to the leader,
who was really fast. We kept out of trouble for the most
part until a couple of cars got tangled up ahead of us.
We wound up being the meat in the sandwich and couldn't
get out. The car got a little rear bumper damage, but other
than that we were fine. Unfortunately, we lost another lap
while trying to get out of the pile. We spent the rest of
the race 2 laps down, but we were the first car down any
laps. Too bad BNS doesn't have the "lucky dog"
rule like Nextel Cup. All in all we learned a lot and had
a great time. It was a very exciting race for the fans and
we hope to do as well in our next event. Thanks to all out
sponsors who are helping us in our rookie season. Talk to
you all after the next race...take care!
